General Consent. By providing your personal information, you consent to Downer (being Downer EDI Limited ACN 003 872 848, or any of its subsidiary companies, operating divisions and business units, whether in Australia or New Zealand) collecting, holding, using, disclosing, storing and otherwise processing that personal information for the purposes of assessing your suitability and eligibility for employment opportunities within Downer in accordance with the Downer Privacy Policy. By providing Downer with the personal information of a third party, for example the personal details of a nominated referee, you confirm that you have:
- obtained the consent of that individual to our collection of the individual’s personal information and our use of that personal information in accordance with the Downer Privacy Policy; and
- before obtaining the consent of that individual, made all reasonable efforts to provide them with a copy of the Downer Privacy Policy or advised them that a current copy of the Downer Privacy Policy can be found on the Downer website

Pre Employment Screening Checks
As part of the recruitment process, Downer may carry out pre-employment screening checks. Downer may also require you to take a pre-employment health and medical assessment.
As a result, Downer (itself or through its contractors and service providers) may collect information about:
- your health, medical history, fitness for work assessment, and results of drug and alcohol testing;
- your criminal record; and
- your membership of professional and trade associations.
Downer will use, and may disclose to a third party, this information for the purpose of assessing your suitability and eligibility for the employment opportunity that you have submitted an application.
This is in addition to the information that Downer may collect, hold, use, disclose, store and otherwise process as set out in this Privacy Statement.
If you do not agree to Downer collecting, using and disclosing your information as part of the pre-employment screening process, please do not submit an application.
Use and Disclosure
Your Personal Information is used to assess your suitability for the job/s you apply for and is stored in electronic format in a database. It may also be used to assess your suitability for other roles within the Downer Group. Your Personal Information is never passed onto any third parties, other than in the circumstances contemplated in this consent, and in the Downer Privacy Policy.
Data Quality
At any time, you may access your account to update your profile and/or résumé thereby ensuring the information Downer holds about you is complete, accurate and up to date.
Openness
If you have questions as to how your information is handled, your Downer recruitment contact will be able to explain our process further to you.
Access and Correction
It is your responsibility to keep your login and password details private to prevent unauthorised access. You may access your account to update, create new applications and activate or deactivate your registration for job mail at any time. Should you wish to remove your account, please contact a member of our recruitment team.
Anonymity
If you prefer to register for job mail anonymously, you may do so by using an email address only.
Storage
Information that you submit as part of this application will be hosted in Australia.
Work Status
By submitting this application you will give Downer and/or its contracted immigration provider full permission to conduct checks of your immigration status and work rights at the time of recruitment, and at any time during the course of your employment with the company.
